Last week I was in some serious pain. My throat was killing me - but not in a sore throat kinda way, just straight up pain. And my chest hurt. It felt like someone had pounded me in the chest and left bruises up and down my throat area. It also felt like something was lodged in my throat. The pain was so severe I went to bed that night at 9PM just to avoid feeling anything.
The next day I was on WebMD (love that site!), trying to self-diagnose myself and explaining my symptoms to anyone who would listen when one of my co-workers pipes up with "Oh girl, you just have heartburn!"
HEARTBURN!?!? But only old people get heartburn!!!

So the rest of the day I was tossin' back cherry-flavored, chewy (like Starburst chewy) Rolaids. Good times. It took another day to get back to normal... but still. I couldn't get over the fact that I had heartburn. That is some crazy shit. I tell you what! Because before that diagnosis I was sure it was some sort of body/bone disease and I was this close to the end. Okay - maybe not. But it sure did hurt like a sonofabitch!
