Pet Peeves #221 and #7

Curious if you can tell which one is which...

Hmmm...

Okay - so lately, I've been thinking about a couple of my pet peeves. Normally, I consider myself a pretty "go-with-the-flow" type of chick. But I guess since shit like this bugs me, maybe I'm notsomuch.

You decide.

The first pet peeve I wish to share is the whole "fake fat chicks movies". Nothing pisses me off more than a movie where they dress up a man/woman in a "fat chick" fat suit. Nothing! Okay - that's not true. Lots of things piss me off more... just not this second. Oh - let's laugh at the fake fat chick and her belly rolls. HAHAHAHAH!

WHAT?! FUCK YOU! SHUT YOUR SHIT UP and stop laughing at fat chicks. Fake or not! UGH!

And no, I'm not bitter/psychologically damaged at all. Actually... I wasn't really teased too much for being chubs. At least not since middle school. But I mean, who WASN'T teased in middle school? And for like any little thing. I once heard someone giving a friend shit for "being all smart and shit". I remember thinking, "Are you effin' kidding me?!?! You are really teasing her for being smart? LOSER!"

Moving on.

The other pet peeve of mine I've been holding onto is the whole signing of e-mails. Maybe it's not NECESSARY per se... I mean, clearly, if the e-mail is from my e-mail address I wrote it, but e-mails are technically electronic mail. And who would send a letter without signing it? That's just rude. I think the same rule should and does apply to e-mail. Sign the damn email. I'm not talking full names, middle initial included... but SOMETHING to distinguish who you are. Maybe it's just a letter... or even a mutual nickname... but make the effort. It personalizes the e-mail for crying out loud. Quite being so damn selfish.

PHEW!

Wow. I guess I really needed to get these things off my chest. I actually DO feel a little better. Surely, I've alienated a few people w/this post... but they'd be FAKE FAT CHICK MOVIE LOVERS and NOT SELF-ADDRESSING E-MAIL SENDERS and who needs people like that in their lives?

Psh! Not me, that's fo sho!

Dear ThatGirl7278,

I feel as a teased chubby boy from middle school that I too find fault in that kind of movie. It is just mean hearted and in my book not entertainment. Eddie Murphy's the nutty professor would be included in that vein.

I am also a proponent of signing e-mails and do it regularly, with few exceptions. One is when there is an exchange of several e-mails with a single person covering one or two topics. I may sign the original, but not the replies. The other exception is generally anyone in my close circle of friends I suppose that is because I feel that anything we say to each other is familiar and more of an extension of the first exception (if that makes sense).

Best Regards,
Scott
