NBA Finals 2007

To my basketball fans, hope you enjoy... to everyone else, let me get this out of the way... k? Okay!

First off... the Cavs? Yeah. Okay. Who plays for the Cavs again? LeBron James. Anyone else?

Uhm... nope.

Not that I'm aware of.

Okay. So it's the San Antonio SPURS versus LeBron James. David Stern's little Love Child. The "allegedly" NEXT Michael Jordan. I think it's a bit way too soon to go there, but that's just me.

Let me break down the issues here.

First off, the Cavs beat us twice in the regular season. Fair enough. Problem is, both games were played in the fall. Before we went and TORE UP the NBA (post All-Star weekend). So, those 2 previous games mean...well, pretty much nothing.

Secondly, the Spurs are considered the "bad guys" now. Well, that's what happens when you become a dynasty. People hate on you. It's the reason I hate the Lakers (and Kobe Bryant). So that makes sense.

Next, LeBron James is a HUGE NBA attraction. And why wouldn't he be? The kid is talented. I cannot and WOULD NOT dispute that. But one person does not make a championship team. However, because he is so well-liked the boy gets calls and/or doesn't get calls against him because of his fame. It's a bit uncool buuuuut Timmy will occasionally get that treatment too - just not nearly as often. So I have my conspiracy theories about that shite. We'll see what happens. Hopefully it will be a fair match up.

Fourth, let's discuss them winning the East. Frankly winning the East is about a momentous as winning the JV State Championship. Anyone know what HS won your state's JV Basketball Championship this year? No? Yeah, that's sort of how it goes.

One of my favorite headlines is that LeBron got the Cavs to the NBA finals within his 3rd season. Timmy can "name that tune" in 2 seasons beyotch (oh yeah AND a Championship).

Bottom line, this will be a fun series, provided there is no funny bidness. I look forward to another championship. They're fun. I'm going to go ahead and predict, Spurs in 6. But if they do it in 5, I'm okay with that too.

GO Spurs GO!

Well put, thatgirl! I've been watching all of the playoff games (I may have missed all of 2 total) and I also think the Spurs will take it again this year. However, I'm really hoping for some even competition. I mean, how much fun is winning it in 4 games?

Of course, if my Mavs were in the hunt......

But it's a TEXAS thing now!
