"In a relationship"

In the words of my dear friend Joey from the critically acclaimed sitcom "Blossom".......

Woah!

That's right folks. I am giving it a try again. Only this time, I'm not holding back. I have found the most wonderful man I have ever met and so long as I don't fuck anything up, I think we have a really good chance of living happily ever after.

Most people know that I am not the relationship type. It's not to say I am anti-relationship, I just very rarely meet that one guy that makes me see the benefits. Meaning, someone who is worth the risk of heartache. There are no guarantees on love and I am definitely no stranger to that. I have always told myself that if it was meant to be, it would just be.

So lemme tell you about my wonderful special person.

Question: Am I too old to use the word "boyfriend"?

I digress.

His name is... hmmmm, perhaps for anonymity reasons I should give him a nickname. If it were up to him, it'd be "Upgreyedd" (can you name that movie?), but that would make him my Pimp, which he is not. And since this is MY blog and I can do pretty much anything I want to, I think I'll go with "Friday the 13th" or "Friday" for short. And if you're thinking "Awww, you met on Friday the 13th." then please, go to Wal-mart and ask them where they keep their "clues"; because clearly, you need to get one.

Anyway! Friday is my... you know. And we are doing really well. He is very sweet, caring, romantic, funny, attractive, has a good job, is responsible, cares about his family, makes me feel wonderful, loves the Spurs, has a pulse... basically, the works! Within the next couple of weeks, he'll be meeting the family AND my closest friends. Both of which are pretty much firsts for me.

Something tells me I'll be experiencing a lot of firsts with Friday... and hopefully a lot of lasts.

Oh yeah... and I can't seem to stop smiling these days.

It's very odd.

You little secretive thing, you! Well done. Though we'd love to hear about "Friday", you need to keep that private a little while. Sort of like a pregnancy - no jinxes and all. Oh wait - just ignore that particular reference.

Shut up, CM.

Okay - so - good luck with "Friday" and we'll look forward to hearing all kinds of great stories about y'all in the future. I'm so happy for you.

5 weeks in and we STILL like each other... that's gotta be a good sign, right?
