Happy Birthday Mom!

Even tho my mom has no idea of the existence of this blog - I still feel it is necessary to celebrate her here.

I mean, without her - there'd be no me.

Yeah, I know. I'm deep.

So, technically her birthday is tomorrow - but I am ready to start celebrating it today!

I was trying to think of some really cool story to share about my mom... some super sweet feel good story straight off of a Lifetime movie. But unfortunately, when I think of my mom and stories - very few of them are super great.

I don't know why it is - maybe it's because we're too different (or worse - too alike!) - but my mom and I do have a volatile relationship.

Don't get me wrong, I adore my mom. She is one of my very best friends, but I don't fight w/ANYONE like I fight with my mom.

But you know there are very few people I can spend several hours/days at a time with - and Mom is one of them. I have a ton of memories of her and I driving around town visiting family and friends together... jamming to the oldies. Literally.

And when it comes to being there for me... NO ONE can compete with my Mom. Not even my dad. She has been there for me more times than I count. All I have to do is pick up the phone and my mom would drop EVERYTHING to be there for me. It's quite an overwhelming feeling to know that throughout all of life's challenges there is someone who has and will be there for me no matter what.
