I'm going for the longest post title ever. Because I think there is an award involved and I really want to win an award. Would you like to give me an

award?

Aww. Damn. And then I was stopped.

Pshaw.

Whatever dude.

So, I've been reflecting on a few things lately. Mostly about what this time of year means to me and all the shit that happens (Halloween, basketball season begins, weather changes, etc) in mid to late October.

I know I have already previously mentioned the few anniversaries I celebrate in October - most importantly the anniversary of the sweetest 15 minutes ever spent in some guy's bedroom, drunk, and disappointed.

Oh, I'm just kidding. It was very special.

In fact, I believe the phrase I used later that night was "Well, at least I got it over with." Quite romantic, I know.

But that's still miles better than "Damn, I'm missing 'Dawson's Creek' for this!" But I digress.

Anyway, so let's discuss Halloween. Eh. I've never been the biggest of Halloween fans. Don't get me wrong. I love scary stuff and I love candy - but unfortunately, my ability to think of cool/interesting and creative costumes is about as good as my ability to pee standing up. And since I don't have a penis (I have a vagina!), that ability is pretty much non-existent. But hey, you do what you can! I believe the most ORIGINAL costume I have ever had was when I was the Virgin Mary sophomore year of college. Well, at least I TOLD everyone I was the Virgin Mary - but nobody believed me. Friggin' haters. And now, the best part of Halloween is seeing all the little kids in my family get dressed up (They are TOO CUTE!). Well, that and the candy of course.

Next up is basketball season. (Go SPURS Go!) I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to this season. Despite our pre-season patheticness, I ain't sweatin'. We ARE the winningest team in sports (as in ALL professional sports) over the last seven years, so we's bound to kick some ass. Just a little peak into my obsession - I believe of the 60+ games that the Spurs played last year, I either watched or listened to on the radio about 50 of them. Minimum. Yeah. Good stuff.

Down here in SA we have 2 seasons ... "hot as shit" and "cold as fuck". Now I realize our "hot as shit" is unlike many others. For example I think we went about a month straight of 100+ degree weather days this year. And our "cold as fuck" season is DEFINITELY unlike others. San Antonians start pulling out the heavy winter coats when the temperature drops below 55. But nevertheless, that's just how it is. I am very happy to say we are having days with a temperature range of 45-75. It's nice and I'm having a great time. I expect us to have another heat spell very soon, because typically you can expect to have the A/C on at Thanksgiving. But if shit like what happens in "The Day After Tomorrow" (which I just recently saw) happens - we're good to go and all you Northern motherfuckers are just fucked. HA!

And finally the BEST damn part about this time of year (in my opinion, of course).

Daylight Savings Time.

It's an extra hour of drinkin' it up at the bars ... or if you as old and crusty as I have been feeling lately... it's an extra hour of sleep.

Mmmmmmmm.... sleeeeeeeeeep.

Hmmm, have NOT injected alcohol into grapes yet... but certainly something to consider. HAVE left tons of oranges and a watermelon soak in vodka overnight. Yum.

As for The Day After Tomorrow - sure thang. Come on down.
