Career suicide

Went bowling on Friday. With my co-workers. For a retreat.

Awesome, right?

Wrong. Well, okay in a way it WAS awesome. It was fun, relaxing, and a great way to spend time (during work hours) doing something enjoyable with my colleagues. The only thing missing were the pitchers of beer. But again, this was during work hours. And while it WAS brought up, the dean quickly nixed the idea. Damn.

Anyway. So, we're bowling it up. Laughing, having a good time. Etc. Etc. When (of course) I just HAD to go and screw things up. Well, first off - let's remember we're bowling. When I bowl (which is very rarely - altho it is so much fun. I wonder why I don't do it more often? Hmmm... okay, moving on), I tend to get into my bowling. Let's just say it brings out the competitor in me. Now don't get me wrong, I'm out there cheering on my team/fellow bowlers but when it's MY time to bowl, back the fuck off! I need to focus! Because I have one goal in mind - to make a strike.

BTW - this is when I should probably mention, a good day of bowling for me is breaking 100. Uh, yeah. Exactly. I blow.

And when that glorious moment comes that I make a strike or a spare... I have a tendency to pull out the BEST end zone dance you've ever seen in your life. Well, on Friday, amongst all the people I work with on a daily basis. Amongst my boss, my boss' boss, and even my boss' boss' boss (the dean) - I - Thatgirl7278 - did SEVERAL end zone dances. We're talking "the Cabbage Patch", the "Lawnmower", the "Water Sprinkler". Hell, I was one strike away from the "Hammer dance".

Oh. My. Gawd!

What the hell was I thinking?!?!

And then to top it off - my 2nd and 3rd round, I played on a team w/my boss' boss... and we COMPETED. Like for real. Oh, sure there were a few high fives and "way to go's", but in the end, it was about who killed whom. And in the 3rd round I smoked him with the best game of bowling I've ever played (my score was 123).

So here we are, several days later and I'm getting "hey, Arianna, do your bowling dance!" and "nice job kicking Bobby's ass!".

I'm so screwed.
