Bullshit!

Do you know the card game BS?

Well, if not, I'll explain.

Basically, everyone is dealt cards until you run out. Players look at their cards. Then you start with the Ace of Spades. Whoever has the Ace puts it on the table face down and then decides who goes next in the circle. Then each player is to put a card(cards if you have more than 1) down in sequential order, face down. The goal is to dump all your cards. Now if it's your turn and you don't have that number or face card, you still have to put a card down - thus the whole "Bullshit" concept, because you are essentially bullshitting your fellow players into thinking you do have the next card. Now if one of the other players suspects you are full of shit, they can call you on it by saying "Bullshit" (or BS if you're playing w/HS kids). And if you ARE full of shit you have to pick up the entire deck of cards that have already been laid down. If you were telling the truth, then the person who called your Bullshit has to pick up the deck.

For example: If it is your turn to put down an 8 and you don't HAVE an 8, you have to BULLSHIT your way in and say "8" even though you're putting down a "Jack". Now if someone calls you on it - then you have to take all the cards that have been discarded. Otherwise, you got away with lying through your teeth for which you're going to go to hell for (so save me a seat!).

Soooooo. Go it?

I played this game w/a group of my students the other day and I got my ass KICKED. You see, I am that player who will call the Bullshitters. I do not just sit idly by and try and dump my cards. Oh no! I'll call you on it if I think you're full of shit. It's just how I am. The problem was - I think ALL of my kids are always lying so I was calling "BS" on every other round. And the brats were telling the truth! And when they were lying, I would be completely fooled! It was a mess. And I paid for it. As we finished our 3rd game (of which I lost ALL of them!), I turned to them and told them I'd never play BS with them again because I don't trust any of them and I always think they're lying. To which they replied... "nah, Miss. You're just a sore loser."

Whatever!
