Burnt my hand last night.
I was cooking dinner and I had one of the pans on an open coil but super close to a coil being used and the handle got really hot. I didn't realize this and went to grab it to use and burnt my hand. Big time.
It hurt like a BEYOTCH!!!!
I screamed and whined and then whined some more. I put ice on it, then an ice pack, then a second pack. It was sad.
Of course I didn't remember a damn thing from First Aid training, so I had to start calling peeps. First I called Booboo - she was in training w/me, hoping she'd remember more than I did. She just said she remembered to NOT use butter or shit like that. Which is like - duh - I mean I'm not making dinner on my hand! So then I called Rachel... who used to be married to a guy in medical school. No answer. Then I called my friend Jeremy. Jeremy is in Pharmacy school. That's KIND of like medical school. No answer.
At this point I am hating life and trying my damnedest not to cry.
So then I called my aunt - who's a nurse. (If you're wondering why I didn't call her first, that's because I'm an idiot.) Fortunately, she answered. Her advice. Butter. WTF?!?! When I suggested Neosporin, she said that would probably be better. She told me to take Aleve for the pain, leave it uncovered and suck it up. Thanks!
Neosporin was awesome. IS awesome. I'm thinking about putting it on everything from now on. As for the pain - it didn't go away for awhile.
Yeah, so that's what I get for cooking.
Psh... see if I do THAT anymore.

It's okay now... I just have this big ol' ugly blister. Eww.
Yikes! Hope it's feeling better!
My friend put her hand down on an electric stove and burnt the imprint of the rings right into her palm...still there 2 years later...gross at the time, but kinda cool now in a sick kinda way.
