WTC

I saw the new movie "World Trade Center" last night.

It was good.

Very good.

It was also very real.

And very hard.

But it's supposed to be.

I cried throughout most of the movie. I don't see how many could not. Sympathizing all over again for all of the survivors and for all of those who did not make it.

I know a lot of people have expressed their concern over the timeliness of this movie. But I truly believe that it will never matter WHEN movies based on this tragedy are made... they will always be hard. It's not going to be any easier a year from now... five years from now... nor ten... or even twenty, etc.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the first tower was hit. I also remember watching the second tower get hit and as they both went down. Now after seeing this movie, I feel I can grasp just how big of a physical impact it was when all of those buildings collapsed.

Last summer, when I was in NYC, we visited Ground Zero and I was just mesmerized by its size. Having never been there before, having only seen them in movies, it was just too surreal to wrap my head around. But now, I think I have a better grasp (oh, not to say I could ever REALLY know, but at least I get it more now) ... and to be honest, it's because of this movie. So if you are like me and can only kind of imagine the magnitude of this event, I would urge you to visit NYC and/or see this movie. Then I think you (like me) might have a better idea of just what happened that horrible day.

Its actually on my way to my new job here in the city. I think some may days I may have to find an alternate route just to maintain sanity.
