Fashion Police

I am hardly one to be casting judgement, but hey, it's my blog and I'll do whatever I damn well want to... and that includes making fun of these...

I certainly don't think shrimp earrings are horribly out of fashion... per se... I mean just because the last time they were truly IN fashion was the 90s is no reason to think women still can't get away with them.

What freaks me out is when women wear the really LARGE shrimp earrings. And by large I'm talking like the size of one's palm or BIGGER.

Now if you'll recall I work at a local CC and I see a lot of kids walking around every day. And every day I notice what the local and recent fashion trends tend to be.

But this trend, this one is just past its prime.

This is what I saw yesterday. I took a picture with my digital camera. It might come out a bit pixelly (yes, that's a word) , but I'm sure you will still get where I'm coming from.

That's right. Her shrimp earrings were literally half the size of her head.

I was surprised she could hold her head upright (due to the strain on her ears) more than anything else. But truth be told, I just don't get the attraction to this style of earrings anymore. Personally, I think it's time to kick 'em to the curb. Who's with me?

As a side note: notice her lip liner. I don't understand it when my fellow Latinos feel it's necessary to line their lips with red, dark red, AND brown. It just looks weird.

Hahahahaha, Oh that is funny! I think shrimp earrings were IN as far back as 1980. I remember having mine then. But the shrimp earring might be something that was only IN in and around the SA area because I never saw them anywhere else.

LOL

I hate these things..but never knew they were called shrimp earings!

and the girls who trace their lips way above their lip line to look like they have "fuller lips" need to look again. Very few of them can pull it off. Botox people....just saying.
