The gift that keeps on giving

On Saturday my little cousins had a "Lemonade Stand". They took Sunkist's advice and decided "to do something". So they had a lemonade stand to raise money for the local Salvation Army.

Altogether... awwwww...

I think it was also an excuse to have a big family get-together for the sake of the kids. I had to work, but I still wanted to stop by and show my support.

Now, as you all know, last weekend I was in Dallas. And because I went out of town I missed my Uncle D(not to be confused w/Tenacious D)'s birthday party. So when I saw him on Saturday I made it a point to wish him a Happy Birthday and ask how it went.

Before I get into the conversation, let me point out that I was sitting at a long table with my Uncle D (the birthday boy), my grandfather, my Aunt M (not to be confused w/Auntie Em) sitting beside me while The Roommate was standing behind me.

Here's how the interlude went...

Me: So, Uncle D (who celebrated his 68th, I wanna say), how was your birthday? What did Aunt M get ya?
Uncle D: Oh it was great! Your aunt gave me a hummer for the day.
Me: (sitting there stunned, honestly thinking Did my uncle just tell me my aunt gave him a BLOWJOB for his birthday!?!?!) *eyes bulging* Oh?
Uncle D: It was cool! We drove it all over town.
Aunt M: Yeah. He had fun.
Me: How cool. I bet you had to fill up every 10 minutes tho. hahahah!

And so on and so forth...

Yeah. It was a little scary there for a second.

Afterwards I turned to The Roommate... had her lean down so I could whisper to her...

Me: Uhm... did you hear what my Aunt gave my Uncle for his birthday?
The Roommate: Of course. I KNEW what you were thinking. I didn't laugh tho. I was afraid it would make you laugh.
Me: OH GOD! I'm glad you didn't, because I definitely would have laughed.

I would have to say that most of my family do not know about my sense of humor. At least not the one I share w/y'all (and my friends). To them I am pretty much just a goody-goody. Not ALL of my family think this mind you, but many.

It's what I aim for actually. I think it's for the best of all concerned personally.

ThatGirl,

I miss you too, hon!! It sounds like you are doing well. Soon, I'll be making good of the nickname you gave me!

Peace

PS-Do you have a way I can contact Carrie and Catherine? I'll be in Seattle early October and would like to meet up with them. Dana, too. I have an old cell number/e-mail. Do you have anything more current?
