I gotta get PAID!

So. Long story short here. Back in 2004 I was the victim of internet fraud. *Word to the wise, if it sounds too good to be true - that means it's A FUCKING ripoff!* Anyway.

I like to go on eBay and look for deals. Good deals. No, to hell with that, I like to look for friggin' awesome deals. And many times, I come up ahead. Well, last year I was approached OUTSIDE of eBay w/regards to some bids I had put up for airline tickets. And I went with it. (Dumbass, I know.)

Apparently some guy in Dallas' identity was ripped off and then the guilty party used that identity to rip ME off. And let's face it, fuck that other guy - all he had was his identity stolen - I, on the other hand lost $700.

Exactly. SUCK!

So after a potential lawsuit was dropped (I dropped it against the identity theft victim), I was contacted by an attorney's office in Houston. It seems they had caught the shitheads who had stolen my money and had found out I was one of their victims. I filled out a questionnaire about my story and how it went down. Complete with e-mails and phone numbers. Then I never heard from them again.

Until yesterday.

Seems the thieves were convicted and SOME of the money was recovered. They sent me a letter requesting to verify my mailing address in order to send me a check. I don't think it'll be much (prolly around $50) but it's something. And with the holiday season coming up, every little bit helps (...me from having to work the 2nd job as much). Hehe.

Holy shit man! That's awesome. Although $50 isn't exactly $700, at least you have some kind of closure . . . right?
