Found out my "askee" was "not available". D'oh!
And because of this, I definitely feel that all men should be required to wear a nametag with the following information:
Name
Age
Single/Taken Status
Income Level
Now readers, don't think that just because I have included "income level", it means I'm a gold digger. I'm not. At all. I just happen to think it makes an excellent ice-breaker.
Right?
Here's the conversation:
Me: Oh, so what do you do that leads you to make between $40,000 and $50,000 a year?
Guy: Well, I'm a ....
You get the point.
or even:
Me: So, did Uncle Sam hit you up on taxes this year or what?
Guy: Well, actually, due to my investments...
Again. You get me.
So, as you can see, knowing a guy's yearly income up front makes a great ice-breaker. Oh sure, knowing his actual job/career COULD work, but I think you can get more out of the income question than job question. I mean, all you can ask about their job (you know, once you already know what it is) is if they like it. Conversation over. And that just wouldn't work.
So yeah. That's my idea. Maybe I should print some out. Start handing 'em out at local bars and sporting events. I think this could work.
PS: Don't worry about me... as for the whole asking a guy out thing. I'm totally cool with it. The good ones are always taken. ;)

Besides, you need to know they have some kind of income...or else you could find them on your couch, eating your food and sucking you dry. And not in the good way.

So you're asking for people to wear their W-2 form on their shirt?
A blog friend told me about a party wherein the attendees wore red to denote taken, green for single, and yellow for unsure. Think I may use that idea soon...
