Ode to Anne

(Happy Birthday my friend. Here is your ode.)

C - is for the change your presence in my life has made on me. Everyone goes through life and at some point wonders if they have made an impact on someone else. If their existence has somehow changed anothers. You can rest assured you have done so with at least one person. But I would venture to say far far more...
A - is for amazing. Kind of weak, I realize; but it's not hard to see why I think you are.
N - is for never letting go. Eight years is a long time to be friends - here's to that many more times another eight. (I hope!)
C - is for caring. Being there for me when I needed a friend more than anything else. Hopefully I have or will be able to return the favor at some point.
E - is for the effect you have had on the world... and more specifically, MY world. Hey, how many times can we say that a monologue was actually written about us? Exactly.
R - is for remembering everything. Maybe not the specifics, but definitely the emotions involved.
S - is for Sarah. Whose music and lyrics that I love and admire and which have taken on a whole new meaning and level of understanding to me...and all because I know you. Her music and our appreciation for it is something I will always cherish like no other bond between us.

Editor's Note: Anne and I are both Cancers (astrologically) and it's kind of a "thing" for us. So please don't think I'm writing about cancer the disease. Psh... fuck cancer the disease. Fucking cancer.
