Ok, I realize that ridiculous is a very general descriptor and obviously open for interpretation, so here I go...
My roommate and I were discussing the other night the sitcom history of the "chubby guy, pretty girl" show... Currently on television are the following:
- According to Jim (ABC)
- King of Queens (CBS)
- Still Standing (CBS)
- Listen Up (CBS)
Past shows could be The Honeymooners, Drew Carey (similar concept), etc.
All this being said - now you KNOW that most of those ladies probably wouldn't look TWICE at guys like that. Which proves my (as yet not previously stated) theory, that women are more likely to settle than men. Now don't think that I am letting us ladies get away without sharing the blame. I'm sure somewhere, somehow we are somewhat at fault for these completely unrealistic shows. I just can't figure out how. Nevertheless, these shows do exist. I wonder if I will ever see the day when the equally unrealistic "chubby girl, hot guy" sitcom gets its day in the sun... most likely not.
