Did I mention I signed up for XM radio?
It's just lovely.
I really cannot express the true depth of my feelings for this amazing frontier. Yes, I referred to it as a "frontier", because that is what it is. The next frontier, in fact. It has music, comedy, sports, and more music and all without the hassle of commercials (it's like a Capital One card).
XM has helped me with a few personal revelations.
First - Josh Groban's voice has the crazy and inexplicable ability to make my draw's drop.
I'm listening on the way to work this morning - and a Josh Groban song comes on and without any warning - BAM! - my panties are down at my ankles. It's quite the party trick indeed. I might even go so far as to say it's a bit disconcerning. Especially since I was still wearing my pants at the time. Also, it was kind of a pain in the ass when I tried to get out of my car upon reaching work. But nevertheless, there you have it.
Second - DeeLite's "Groove is the Heart" was and always will be a music classic.
I look forward to jamming out to it when I'm in my 60s/70s. Yes, folks, that will one day be considered an "oldie but goodie" and our grandchildren will be rolling their eyes at us for getting excited every damn time that song comes on. Accept it now.
Third - If you give a song (specifically, the kind of song that when it WAS a hit, was played on the radio literally every 30 minutes for several months at a time) a few years to disappear and then hear it again - you will actually admit to missing it. Or in the very least, enjoying it all over again.
If you don't know what I am talking about then clearly you have not heard Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" recently. Because, like me, one day when you'll be driving down the road, radio blaring and you'll hear this song again. And without even realizing it, you'll be singing along with the radio as loudly as you can, uncontrollably crying out "I'll never let go Jack!" and remembering how you thought that old lady was just crazy for throwing the diamond off the boat.
XM Radio feeds music junkies like myself. It is like my new drug. Er, not new as in, out with the old drug, in with the new, but more like the new thing I'm really into. Yeah. That's it. Anyway, as evident by my profile, my taste in music is quite diverse. The last three CDs I purchased (via a kick ass website - www.yourmusic.com) were all "Greatest Hits" CDs. The artists were: Heart, Phil Collins, and Al Green. All different (all old, yes, but who cares) and all great. And if you're interested, the next CDs on my music queue list are: 50 cent (to replace the one stolen out of my car), Journey, and System of A Down.
Well, that's it for now. But I'm sure I'll bring up XM again. It IS the next frontier you know.
Oh - I almost forgot!
Number of business days left til my ass-rockin' holiday break begins: 8!
