What is Balderdash?
Let me fill you in!
It is the game of bluffing/bullshitting. And apparently I rock at it!
I played this particularly enjoyable game on Sunday as a part of my busy, fun filled weekend. When my friends asked me if I had played/heard of it before I think I replied "I'm not sure." It was not until I saw the game and heard the rules that I remembered that yes, I had indeed played this game. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not going to claim to be... THE BEST at Balderdash (Altho, on Sunday, I was.), but I do seem to have a knack for it. I am not necessarily the best at picking the right answer, but I can ALWAYS get someone to guess my bullshit answer. I think the trick is to... wait! I can't tell you my secrets of success to winning. What if we ever play? No. I don't think I'll share. Let's just say, I'm pretty good and if you want some of this, bring it on! Of course, you'll have to supply the game (and the booze), since I have neither at this time. But otherwise... it's on.
I had such a great weekend. It was exhausting tho. This morning, the last thing I wanted to do was get up and go to work. But I did. In fact, last night, I was so beat all I did was sit at home and watch the All-Star Game. That's it. The only reason I removed my ass from the couch for a whole 3-4 hours was to grab water from the fridge and use the restroom. Otherwise, I was completely immobile. And it was LOVELY!
I had family and friends time this weekend. But the most memorable part of it all (aside from kicking ass at Balderdash, of course) was meeting one of the funnest (yes, that's right, I'm making up words now) chicks ever. You may or may not know her - her name is Hotpinksox and she writes an absolutely hilarious blog (maybe even as funny as mine!). I urge you to visit it.
It all happened on Saturday night. The Mexi was belly-dancing at a restaurant up in Austin so a few of us caravaned up there to check out the show. I invited HPS to join us... and she did!! I met a couple of her friends and she met a few of mine. And even though she doesn't quite know how to pronounce my name, it was still good times. Food was had, wine, etc. and I am glad it all went so well.
On a side note: I also some ol' college buddies that night and got some serious props for my new hot bod. Gotta love that shit!
Anyway, today is now the day after a busy weekend and all I want to do is go home and veg. But notsomuch. Instead I'll be here at work and then I'll hit the gym later. Good times.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of starting tennis lessons. I have never swung a real tennis racket in my entire life. But I think it could be fun. I'll let you know.

No no..I AM THE SHIT at Balderdash!
Do you think our knack for bullshitting could ever get us rich?
It seems to work for A LOT of others, surely we can cash in on it too!
We must put our seemingly intelligent heads together and come up with a plan...
muhahaha
Holy Crap! I just read this. (this new blogger suck BTW) You are so sweet!
How do you pronounce your name? You could have told me, silly.
And thanks for telling people I have a funny blog. If anyone checks it out lately they will be disappointed. Oh well, I can't please everyone.
2 ways to pronounce it:
The Mexi way: "Ah-rrr(rolling of the r's)-eee(long e)-aah-nuh"
or The Anglo way:
"Air-eee(long e again)-aah-nuh"
but NEVER the SNL skit way:
"Are-eee(long e)-ah-nuh"
A subtle difference I realize, but still. ;)
