What time do you get out today?

That was the text message I got on my phone the other day from my roommate.

The very same roommate whose boyfriend was in town for the weekend.

The very same roommate who always seems to want to know what time I'll be home when her bf is in town.

You tell me what you would think of if you got a text message like this in the middle of the day (it was 12:45p). Let me tell you what I thought "Sex in the living room!"

Now, legitimately, I did not know what time I would be home this particular afternoon. Under normal circumstances it would be around 4pm, but we were expecting to be done early so it could be more like 2:30pm. So, with complete and utter honesty, I replied "I don't know yet."

Of course, I had to share this particular text conversation with all my friends at work. I wanted to be sure I wasn't the only one who would come to the same conclusion... you know "sex in the living room". So I asked around. Of course, I am not at all discreet but just like in many situations where people can overhear your conversation, it seems they can only hear the parts they want to. Like the "sex in the living room" part. So I had to then emphasize that no, I wasn't having sex in my living room, but that I suspected my roommate was.

As it turns out - we DID get out early this day and no I did NOT send another text message letting her know I was on my way home (I mean, she didn't ask me to after I told her I didn't know) - and so as I was parking in front of my apartment, thought "Hmmm, I wonder."

So I quietly closed my car door, remembering NOT to jingle my keys or to stomp loudly as I climbed the 3-4 steps to our front door. Nor was I terribly loud in the process of unlocking the door... and inside I walked, with a pleasant "hey, guys what's up?"

My roommate and her bf scrambled on the couch. Neither one of them was FULLY clothed (no, I did not see any T or A) and they looked entirely too guilty, but otherwise I didn't walk in on anything particularly scandalous. Besides, I was already walking up the stairs to my room by that point. The whole thing was just really funny. And I'm pretty sure they heard me giggling at them as I walked away.

Anyway, if she's embarrassed she has no one to blame but herself. I mean, come on. I only mess around in the living room when she's either out of town or gone for the night. You see, I'm thoughtful like that.
